Steps to Smile Design: Lips, Teeth and Gingiva
Maurice A. Salama,
DMD, David A. Garber, DMD. Ronald E. Goldstein, DDS. |
|
|
| |
Until
recently the concept of dental esthetics was necessarily limited
to teeth alone. The pre-existing relationship between the
teeth, gingival and the lip framework was by and large accepted,
making no effort to create harmony for beauty. The course
aims to emphasize on ten steps to develop total dento-facial
harmony. |

Therapeutic options available
today have the potential to enable the restorative dentist
to restore any tooth, and the surgeon to augment any ridge
or develop successful Osseointegration for implant management.
Deciding whether to save or extract an anterior tooth may
carry significant liabilities and consequences. Evidence-based
treatment outcomes provide guidelines, but will not determine
which therapy is the best.

supporting architecture of the teeth to be restored.

|
| |
|
|
| |

should be able to:
|
|
| |
-
Diagnose and evaluate
potential risks associated wit therapy in the esthetic
zone.
-
Make use of evidence-based
therapies in treatment planning.
-
Evaluate existing
ridge contours and interproximal tissue status for possible
augmentation procedures.
-
